A Florida man is accused of gunning down his 25-year-old partner in front of two of the her three children, one of whom told responding officers that “Daddy did it to Mommy, and Mommy is dead.”
Derrick Feliciano Bargman-Williams, 28, fled the scene after shooting Jessica Frankel Singleton Wednesday morning outside a home in Miramar, WTVJ reported.
According to the arrest report, Bargman-Williams and Singleton had been arguing throughout the night Tuesday and into the morning. The altercation turned physical and spilled outside the home, where Bargman-Williams pulled out a handgun and shot the mother of the his children in the chest, then continued to shoot her as she turned to try to run away.
Singleton’s 4-year-old and 1-year-old children saw the shooting. Police did not say where the third child was at the time, but the Department of Children and Families has taken custody of the children and will determine placement for them.
Police said that a Ring camera captured Bargman-Williams running away from the scene with a young boy running after him, calling, “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!”
Police, who called in a SWAT team to search for the “armed and dangerous” man, found him cowering under some bushes a few blocks away.
