COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (TCD) — Police are searching for a 35-year-old woman they allege killed her two young children and injured a third, then fled just days before a warrant was issued for her arrest.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary call on the 5300 block of Palomino Way and found Kimberlee Singler and an 11-year-old female with injuries. Officers also located a 9-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy dead inside the home. Medics treated Singler and the 11-year-old at the scene before they went to a local hospital for additional care.
The department’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation and concluded the burglary call that sent officers to Singler’s home was “unfounded.”
Investigators obtained a probable cause warrant on Dec. 26 to arrest Singler on multiple charges, including four counts of murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and several counts of child abuse. A judge set Singler’s bond at $10 million.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force began searching for Singler and learned she had not been seen since Dec. 23. Her whereabouts reportedly remain unknown.
KKTV-TV reports the 11-year-old child is safe.
