Claud “Tex” McIver is convicted in the shooting death of his wife, Diane.
That conviction has been reversed and now, the once-prominent Atlanta attorney takes a plea deal that will pave his way to a release. Georgia’s highest court ruled that the jury should have been able to consider a misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter charge.
McIver has now pleaded guilty to lesser charges of involuntary manslaughter, conduct, and possession of a gun during the commission of a crime. He will receive credit for the time he’s already spent in custody.
