In spite of their on- and off-screen differences, Southern Charm’s Craig Conover and Austen Kroll have a good thing going on the business front, and they shared the latest on their new venture — a Charleston-based wedding and party venue known as The Waverly — while speaking to The Daily Dish on August 13.
“Our story’s just beginning, you know? Our fairy tale is the beginning of the movie,” Craig explained at DIRECTV’s Plot Twist – Featuring Bravo event in New York City. “But we want to help people celebrate the middle chapter of their fairy tale, and it all coming together.”
Austen, noting that Charleston is a top wedding destination, added that their hope for The Waverly is to provide an all-in-one space that prevents people from having to travel to various locations for different wedding events.

As Craig put it, “My brother and sister-in-law just got married in October in Charleston, and we got to see the challenges that exist there, and the barrier of entry of being married in Charleston is tough. It takes a long time, so we wanted to make it a little bit more approachable for people. Now you can have your ceremony, reception, and after party all in one place.”
Another important element to the Waverly? Craig and Austen are working with the same business partners from their Charleston restaurant, By The Way. “We’re just expanding our footprint in Charleston, investing in our backyard,” Craig explained.
Will Austen Kroll and Craig Conover continue working together in the future?
Fans can count on Austen and Craig continuing their professional partnership because, as Craig told The Daily Dish, both have “a lot of ideas” for the future.
“I can’t wait to continue to collaborate with him,” Craig continued. “We just have a lot of ideas, which is really cool.”
