Craig Conover Shares New Details on an Injury Affecting Him

Craig Conover might have pushed it a little too hard. The Southern Charm cast member is constantly on the go — between traveling across the nation for his career and for fun, but his recent revelation about a past injury might cause him to slow down a little bit.

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Bravo Thursdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on Bravo.

Craig took to his Instagram Story earlier this month, where he revealed that he was in search of a knee doctor in Charleston after getting injured a while ago. “I’ve been pushing myself pretty hard, and I’ve got a sleeper injury from about two years ago that’s starting to haunt me,” he explained. “And I feel like it’s better to deal with it now before it gets worse.”

The Sewing Down South founder, however, did not share how got injured a few years ago, or why he wants to address it now. But, he later took to his Instagram Story that same day, where he advised his Instagram followers to listen to their doctors.

“Listen to your doctors and take whatever pills they tell you too,” he wrote over his Story, while at the gym. “But if you’re not supplementing pharmaceuticals with exercise, you’re never gonna feel better.”

Craig Conover reveals how he changed his mindset at the gym

That same day, Craig took to his Instagram Story, where he filmed himself, sweaty in his car, after his workout. He admitted that he used to judge people for lifting weights outside of his gym, but recently changed his mindset after doing it himself.

“I used to see people workout out outside and think they’re doing it to show off for people walking by, and they always looked so tired, so I was like, ‘Where does the effort come from?’ Well, I experienced it today and now I know,” he shared. “After a really hard workout, at this time of year, you want to be outside. And so I did my last few sets outside and I became one of those people I used to judge.

“And I understand now that they were working out outside because they were hot, and there’s something about working out in the sun, because it’s cool, and you want to see the light and it’s that old adage, ‘Walk in someone’s shoes,'” he added.

Details on Craig Conover’s health journey

Craig has been very open about his health journey and how that relates to his relationship with alcohol, which he explained during a January 2024 episode of the Good Guys podcast. “Two years ago I stopped drinking liquor, and then, about a year ago, I really cut back drinking and got in shape,” he said, admitting he lost “20 pounds over the last year” after having gained “like 30 pounds.”

“I think the health journey…it really changes your whole life,” he noted. “You just start waking up earlier.”
