WASHINGTON (TCD) — Police are working to identify and locate a suspect they allege killed a 41-year-old tech executive from Virginia this month.
According to a news release from the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., Police Department, on Friday, Feb. 2, at around 2 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of 15th Street NW in reference to a possible assault. Police found the victim, Vivek Taneja, suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Taneja was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his wounds several days later, on Feb. 7.
According to WRC-TV, Taneja allegedly got into a fight with an individual, who punched him to the ground. During the altercation, the victim’s head reportedly hit the concrete, and he went unconscious.
Police captured the suspect on surveillance footage and asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the man. Officers are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading up to an arrest.
Taneja was the co-founder and president of Dynamo Technologies, a “premier technology solutions and analytics product provider to the federal government,” according to the company’s website.
