Dad Accused of Executing 3 Sons Wants Graphic Crime Scene Photos Omitted at Trial – Crime Online

An Ohio father who allegedly killed his three sons in June appeared in court on Monday to address multiple motions.

Defendant Chad Doerman is facing the death penalty for reportedly shooting his three children, ages 3, 4, and 7, in front of his wife and stepdaughter. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Doerman’s lawyers asked the court to avoid describing the first phase of his trial as the “guilty phase” and to omit photos of the crime scene.

Doerman’s legal team also asked for the jury pool to include felons who have completed their sentences. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that 41 motions have been filed — with the prosecution describing many of the defense’s motions as vague and premature.

Doerman allegedly planned to murder his three sons for months. He reportedly shot his 4-year-old son twice in the head in their Monroe Township home before shooting the 7-year-old as he tried to run away. The 7-year-old was wounded from behind when Doerman then shot him twice in the head from close range, according to prosecutors.

After allegedly killing his two sons, Doerman then snatched his 3-year-old son from his mother’s arms and shot him in the head. Doerman was also accused of shooting his children’s mother in the hand during the triple murder.

Doerman’s stepdaughter reportedly fled the home on foot and found a neighbor who called the police. Before police responded to the scene, the boys’ mother apparently told a 911 dispatcher her “babies had been shot.”

The three boys were found dead in a yard, while Doerman was found sitting next to the rifle on the porch.

Doerman was charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and felonious assault. Authorities have not disclosed a motive in June’s triple murder. He remains jailed on a $20 million bond.
