Dad Arrested After Claiming Missing Infant Son Was Taken During Armed Robbery – Crime Online

Georgia police said on Monday that the father of a missing 6-month-old boy is a suspect in his disappearance.

WSB-TV reported that Clayton County police arrested Antonio Pearce, 38, on unrelated charges as they searched for his son, Nnakai Pratt. A day earlier, police were called about Pratt being taken from his car seat while Pearce was robbed at gunpoint.

Since then, investigators have highlighted “highly questionable” details surrounding Sunday’s call as they believe foul play is involved in Pratt’s disappearance.

A woman told WSB-TV that she was dating Pearce and did not know he had a child. Police reportedly questioned the woman, but it is unclear whether she is also considered a suspect.

WAGA reported that cops are searching some woods near the family’s apartment complex for Pratt, who has a twin sibling. Police used bloodhounds and cadaver dogs, but there is still no sign of the infant.

According to WXIA, police examined and seized an SUV that was parked at the scene.

Pearce — who is jailed without bond — is currently charged with marijuana possession, improper child restraint, and driving on a suspended license. He has not been charged in connection with his son’s ongoing disappearance.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Clayton County Police Department at 770-477-3550.
