As the search for missing Tennessee teen Sebastian Rogers continues, his father said he was never told about child services visits to his son’s home, where he lives with his mother and stepfather.
According to FOX 17 News, Seth Rogers expressed optimism about finding his son alive. Still, he’s concerned after recently discovering that the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) was called to Sebastian’s Hendersonville home, where he lives with Chris and Katie Proudfoot.
“Somebody somewhere dropped the ball because I was never informed. I’m the biological father. I have joint legal joint physical custody,” Seth said.
Chris Proudfoot told FOX 17 News that DCS was previously called to their home, but he emphasized that “all those cases are closed.” He clarified that the sole ongoing case with DCS pertains to Sebastian’s disappearance.
On March 25, when “Crime Stories” host Nancy Grace asked Chris Proudfoot about alleged spanking and child protection services involvement, he said despite the purported rumors, the spanking incident “did not turn into a CPS service call.”
Meanwhile, the search for Sebastian continues.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Sebastian was last seen on February 26 at his family home in Sumner County. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation subsequently issued an AMBER Alert on the afternoon of February 27.
Chris Proudfoot said he was almost four hours away in Memphis, working on a construction project at St. Jude when Sebastian disappeared. “On or about 6:20 a.m.,” he contacted 911 after his wife and the teen’s mother, Katie Proudfoot, told him Sebastian was missing.
There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was missing from the home. The Proudfoots do not have an alarm or a security camera at the home.
Katie said the only thing she heard the night before Sebastian disappeared was a “thud” coming from his room, and Sebastian telling her that he was OK shortly after.
The couple said that, for now, they have left the family home, with Chris returning to work and Katie saying she would be going with him. She doesn’t know when she will return and said part of the reason for leaving is the harassment from the public.
Sebastian is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighs between 106 to 108 pounds. He has dirty blond hair and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants. His flashlight keychain is unaccounted for.
Anyone with information regarding Rogers’ whereabouts should call the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office at 615-451-3838 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
