Despite making great strides in their friendship, Sutton Stracke and Dorit Kemsley took several steps backward, following their argument on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The two clashed at Rachel Zoe’s disco birthday party in Season 15, Episode 17, when Sutton advised Dorit to apologize to Kyle Richards in the aftermath of their blowup in Italy. Months later, they still had even more to get off their chests about the conflict on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.
Referring to their dustup as “so weird,” Dorit pointed out that she had been in the midst of opening up about 9-year-old daughter Phoenix Kemsley’s challenging transition at school when Sutton broached the subject of her and Kyle’s fractured friendship.

“When your child is that broken, you’re barely breathing, because already, I’m on the reserve tank. I’m not operating, like, at full capacity,” Dorit explained. “And here’s Sutton, we’re supposed to be friends, right? We’ve made leaps and bounds. And I’m telling her, and I’m opening up about Phoenix. And I already can see … Sutton’s got this look in her eyes, let me just tell you. If you ever see it, you’ll know exactly.”
Sutton, meanwhile, insisted that she wanted “to be patient” with Dorit amid her contentious divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley.
“As a person [who’s] gone through a long divorce that was very difficult, you know, it took me a long time to come to a very even-keeled place, a long time,” she said. “I get it. And also, I think you’re also a certain age where your hormones are going crazy. There’s just a lot to it.”
Sutton continued, “I think she’s overwhelmed. She looks overwhelmed to me. And your friends have to stick by you. She’s gonna come back. … It might be in a different way.”

When Rachel approached the two in RHOBH‘s April 9 episode, Dorit abruptly shifted focus to the birthday girl, leaving Sutton feeling as though she’d been “shut down.” After first threatening to leave the party altogether, Sutton eventually interrupted Dorit’s conversation with another woman on the dance floor and asked her for a one-on-one.
After referring to the interruption as “annoying” and telling her friend that she’d “hate her forever” for doing so, Dorit went on to claim to Sutton that she was just “kidding.”

“I was, like, having fun, and Sutton comes over,” Dorit recalled on the RHOBH After Show. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, what the f–k?'”
By Dorit’s account, Sutton said the real reason she was “mad at” her was that she had simply turned her body toward Rachel and away from her, earlier in the evening.
“It was so f–kin’ ridiculous, and she wanted an apology,” Dorit added. “Meanwhile, I was like, you know what? I’m not even going to challenge [her]. I was like, ‘I’m so sorry.’ The problem is I know what she’s doing. … So, it’s like, really? I’m supposed to play along? You know when someone is, like, dying to grasp at straws?”

Separately, Sutton explained her motives for pulling Dorit aside, mid-party.
“I wanted a friendship with Dorit, truly,” she explained. “So, I felt like if I was honest with my feelings in that moment, that it would help. And Dorit did not want to leave her conversation with this woman to speak to me, and she was angry about it. She didn’t want to deal with me, which was showing me exactly that she doesn’t want to have a real friendship with me. Why would you be that angry? Just blew up in my face.”
Sutton decided in Episode 17 that Dorit’s so-called “very condescending” behavior was enough reason for her to skip the cover reveal for her new memoir, Unburdened, likely setting up even more conflict between the two.
