During the Dec. 4 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit Kemsley revealed that she has yet to have an official conversation with her children about filing for divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley. When she later stopped by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Dorit gave an update on what her 11-year-old son Jagger and 9-year-old daughter Phoenix are aware of now.
“Both the kids know,” she revealed of her divorce. “I didn’t tell them, and I didn’t not tell them.”
She explained to Bozoma Saint John: “When I wanted to sort of bring it up and start to have dialogue about it, Jagger especially, he was happy not to talk about it. Like, he didn’t want to. And that bothered me even more, because then I started to worry. So, I tried to have a conversation. I said, ‘Listen, Jags, you must have feelings about the situation with Daddy and I. Daddy not being in the house. And he was like, ‘No, I’m fine. I’m fine, Mom. I’m fine.’ But I could tell he was walking around with the weight.”
According to Dorit, her son “completely” understood why she didn’t tell him “straightaway” about the divorce: “He’s like, ‘And I think you made the right decision, Mommy.’ He says, ‘It makes perfect sense.’ He says, ‘Daddy wasn’t around a lot.’”
Dorit Kemsley reveals why her kids feel “hurt” by PK during their divorce
In April 2024, Dorit filed for divorce after PK was photographed kissing another woman. Since then, she revealed on the After Show, communication with her son is improving.
“Jagger’s opening up to me more, and sharing feelings,” she told Boz during the After Show. “But, it’s more feelings about his dad and not about our situation. As long as they’re not holding anything in, then I’m good.”
She continued: “A lot of the hurt is that PK is not around for them consistently, and I want him to be. I want my children to have a very good relationship with their father.”

Dorit first shared she wasn’t telling her kids about her separation from PK during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14.

“With Jagger, I’m having the hardest time,” she told the ladies in the episode. “He made a couple of comments, like, alluding to the fact that like, ‘Duh, I know that you and Daddy are, you know, divorced—not together. And I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ And then I was like, ‘How do you feel about that?’ Very much a brush off.”
Dorit also shared the way Jagger initially discovered his mother and father were separating, revealing he asked her, “Did you post something on Instagram?” In a now-deleted Instagram post from May 2024, both Dorit and PK had shared their “mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart.”

At the time, Dorit told Jagger, “‘In marriages, when you’re married for a long time, you can have your ups and downs. Sometimes you need a little time apart.'”
As the RHOBH Season 15 trailer revealed, later in the season, viewers will see Dorit meeting up with PK’s friend, and Kyle’s estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.
“He’s never texted me once asking to see the kids,” she tells Mauricio, who replies, “I get that. It’s just that I’m hearing different stories.”
