As Dorit Kemsley navigates her ongoing divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, some unexpected, new financial responsibilities have thrust her into uncharted territory.
When she sat down with Bozoma Saint John and Amanda Frances during Season 15, Episode 3, Dorit explained that, when it came to their finances, PK began “handling everything” even before they were married in 2015.
“For the last 14 years, PK’s been paying the lion’s share of our family outgoings,” she elaborated in a confessional. “When we separated, he said that the finances would stay the same.”
That financial arrangement was short-lived, however, according to Dorit.

“A month later, I got an email saying that he decided that he’s no longer going to do that,” she claimed. “And I was like, ‘How can you change this all of a sudden?’ And his answer was, ‘I only agreed to that for one month.'”
Given that she had minimal, if any, direct involvement in the family’s finances up until that point, Dorit quickly realized that she also had no knowledge of basic information, such as whether or not they even had any retirement or other investment accounts.
“I have yet to discover everything,” Dorit admitted to Boz and Amanda. “And I can tell you I’m in the unknown.”
Dorit Kemsley reveals if PK is paying the mortgage after their home’s “pre-foreclosure”
Dorit further filled in her two castmates about how she and PK had a business manager, and after she filed for divorce in April 2025, there was never any official “hand-off” of responsibilities. In her words, she “just would find out” from the manager whenever PK decided he was “not gonna pay” for something anymore.
That’s when self-professed “money queen” Amanda asked if PK was “trying to not pay the mortgage,” for example.
“He’s currently paying the mortgage,” Dorit clarified, before bringing up that their home was in pre-foreclosure in 2024.
“When I found out our house was in pre-foreclosure, I wasn’t just worried about losing the house,” she said in a confessional. “The house is in my name, so if PK stops paying for something or doesn’t make payments, it’s me that suffers the consequences.”

Dorit shed more light on the matter during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show for Episode 3.
“I learned that the house went into pre-foreclosure when the rest of the world did,” the mom of two added. “At the very least, if you’re not gonna pay the mortgage, tell me you’re not paying the mortgage. Let me in on it. These things, they’re public, and then I have to answer for it.”
As for their financial situation in general, Dorit also insisted that the issue was not her inability to manage the money, but rather that she’d never been privy to all of the necessary information.
“The thing is, actually, I am a practitioner, and I know how to do it,” Dorit added on the RHOBH After Show. “But what I’m struggling with is the clarity, because I was not running finances, and I was sort of pushed out of the equation.”
Why Dorit and PK Kemsley didn’t have a prenup
Also during RHOBH‘s Dec. 18 episode, Dorit broke down the reasons why she and PK never signed a prenuptial agreement.
After describing her estranged husband as “very much an alpha male” to Boz and Amanada, Dorit continued, “He built a very big business in the UK. And when the world tilted on an axis in 2008, he lost his business.”
As she further detailed to a producer, “When PK and I married, we did not have a prenup. PK came into the relationship broke. He had lost his business, and he was really starting from scratch. So, there was nothing to protect.”
