A Florida man is facing charges after police say he killed a teacher and an infant while driving under the influence.
According to The Florida Times Union, Logan Fletcher Park, 24, is facing two charges of DUI manslaughter, in connection with the deaths of Mitchell Patch, 34, and his infant son, Everett, 1.
The incident happened back in May, when Park allegedly struck the pair with a Honda, as they tried to cross Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville, at around 8:30 p.m.
Patch, identified as a Bayview Elementary School Teacher of the Year, and his son passed away from their injuries at the scene.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that Park was taken to a hospital for treatment, where a blood alcohol test showed a level of .107. The legal BAC in Florida is 0.08.

First Coast News reports that Park turned himself in on Sunday, following an investigation by the sheriff’s office.
An obituary indicated that Patch graduated from Florida State College before spending 12 years as a math teacher at the school. He earned the Bayview Elementary Teacher of the Year award during the 2023/2024 school year.
Park is scheduled for a court hearing on December 3.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to assist Patch’s wife, Mary Allred, with funeral and related expenses.
