Eileen Davidson Reveals Career Update Ahead of Daytime Emmys 2025

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Eileen Davidson may be adding to her accolades. The soap opera star — who was a cast member on RHOBH for Seasons 5 through 7— has once again been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on the soap opera, The Young & The Restless.

Eileen has been nominated for Best Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her work as Ashley Abbott on The Young & The Restless at the upcoming 2025 Daytime Emmys.

The long-running daytime drama celebrated Eileen for the exciting career update on Instagram, tagging the actress and praising her for the work that she’s done on the show to set herself apart.  “Huge congratulations to [Eileen] on her Daytime Emmy nomination!” the message read, along with a glamorous photo of Eileen dressed in gold.

Inside Eileen Davidson’s career on The Young & The Restless

Ashley Abbott is a role Eileen has been perfecting since her 1982 debut on the soap as the young college student returning home to the fictional town of Genoa City, Wisconsin, according to her network bio. Eileen has played the role, off and on, for more than four decades and took home a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Actress for her work in 2018.

Eileen shared a photo from the set of her prepping for the role earlier this year. “Working a little. Playing a lot,” she captioned an image in February of herself posing in front of a dressing room mirror.

A few months later, the one-time diamond-holder shared another glimpse of life as a swanky soap star as she strutted in full hair and makeup in a sleek black dress with a built-in cape. “Taking care of business baby!” She wrote in the April 11 post

What other soap operas has Eileen Davidson appeared on?

While Eileen has become a beloved fixture on The Young & The Restless it isn’t her only memorable role in a daytime drama. She has also embodied the role of Kristen DiMera — and some other surprising identities along the way — on Days of Our Lives.

She took home her first Daytime Emmy Award for Best Actress in 2014.for her work on the NBC series, which streams on Peacock.

Why Did Eileen Davidson leave RHOBH

Eileen credited her busy work obligations with her decision to leave RHOBH in 2017. 

“After a lot of careful thought, I’ve decided because of my crazy schedules at The Young and The Restless, as well as Days of Our Lives, it’s best for me and my family if I step away from being a Housewife for now,” she wrote in a statement to The Daily Dish at the time. “But you never know, I might be popping in from time to time just to see what the ladies are up to! Thanks for your love and support guys!!!”

When she isn’t in front of the camera herself, Eileen spends some of her time writing. Her niece Annamarie Davidson even serves as her writing partner, a fun dynamic she opened up about on Instagram in February. 

“My niece Annamarie Davidson is an incredible screenwriter (and that’s why she’s my writing partner!) She’s also brilliant at helping writers get their scripts noticed,” she wrote, alongside a photo of the pair on the red carpet. “In a crowded industry, a standout pitch deck can make all the difference.”

Eileen may have found herself with a little more time on her hands this year after son Jesse Van Patten headed off to college at California State University-Northridge in January.

Eileen took a moment to commemorate the milestone on Instagram sharing a candid snapshot of her, Jesse, and husband Vincent Van Patten standing outside Jesse’s new dorm room.

“Big day moving this one into his dorm!,” she wrote along with the hashtag “emptynest.”

Now adjusting to life without any children at home — including Vincent’s two older sons from another marriage — Eileen and Vincent shared their own marriage milestone together in February.

“25 Valentine’s Days together!” Eileen captioned a photo on social media of the pair smiling into the camera on February 14. “love you!”

Eileen’s recent Daytime Emmys nomination surely just gives the long-standing couple one more reason to celebrate.
