An elderly South Carolina couple was found dead last week in their home, and now police say they are investigating a double murder.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene by family members who were unable to reach 76-year-old Larry Moore and 75-year-old Sandra Moore. They were found dead inside on Thursday.
The coroner’s office said the died from “traumatic injuries,” although the nature of those injuries wasn’t described “to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation and at the request of the sheriff,” according to WYFF.
Police said the last contact anyone had with the Moores was earlier in the week, and they asked anyone with security cameras or who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them.
The Moores were longtime members of Calvary Church in the area and owned and operated a fish camp until their retirement in 2016.
