Elena “Ellie” Dubaich is “going to the top” with her life after Below Deck Mediterranean. The Below Deck Med alum served as a stew on Seasons 7 and Season 9, and has been living her best life since then.
Ellie is very active on Instagram, where she posts so many photos showing off scenes from her life. She took to Instagram on July 26, where she posted a series of photos taken in an elevator in her current city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “Going to the top,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
But when she isn’t traveling or sporting some amazing bikinis, she is reflecting on her career and time on Below Deck Med Season 7. Ellie took to Instagram on July 20, where she posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from motor yacht Home and reminisced on the “best time” that she had.
“This was my very first season in Malta — Season 7, Episodes 18 and 19, filmed in 2021. I had already given up on making that season, as it was already over,” she wrote. “But after an unfortunate turn of events with Kyle [Viljoen]’s ankle injury, it turned out it was meant to be after all.”

She continued in the caption of the post, admitting that she had such a great time working on Below Deck Med Season 7. But, she was nervous about the things that she would say or do on camera. “You’ve got to accept that you might not be perfect and people might have bad things to say and that’s alright — as long as we grow from it and are happy with ourselves,” she wrote.

“I gave it my all and had the best time with this crew,” she continued. “To this day they were the most fun group to be around, we had so many laughs together! Feeling super nostalgic and missing them all!”

Ellie still wants to work in yachting, but this time as a chef. She took to Instagram on July 12, where she revealed that she was going to culinary school. “Chef Ellie coming soon to a yacht near you,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
“Cooking is a brand new school I pretty much know nothing about,” she added. “It will be fun to challenge myself and end this year with an accredited culinary diploma — something I could have never foreseen happening back in January. However — that’s the flow of the moment and I have to trust it.”
Ellie had previously told The Daily Dish in 2024 that she was also looking forward to continue working in the yachting industry. “I’ve taken courses on bartending, purchased liquor to practice, done a chief stew course, and a Yacht Purser course,” she explained. “I feel much more confident in my skills and I’m looking forward to always learning growing further in my career.”

“This year of my life brought many blessings disguised as challenges and I wouldn’t change any one of them,” she wrote in the caption of the post. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that when you base your confidence on your willingness and ability to overcome challenges — nothing can bring you down. Grateful for everyone’s love and support and appreciative of everything just the way it unfolded. Looking forward to the best year of my life yet.”
Details on Elena Dubaich’s time on Below Deck Med Season 9
Ellie served as a stew during Below Deck Med Season 9, where she got entangled in a love triangle with Joe Bradley (more on that down below) and butted heads with chief stew, Aesha Scott and fellow stew, Bri Muller. But, Ellie had a lot of clarity after her time on board.
“[I was] genuinely not realizing I wasn’t pulling my weight,” she told The Daily Dish in 2024. “We’d work 16 hour days and I would get praise the entire day and a small note on something I could improve every once in a while. So, it never seemed like that big of an issue from my perspective.”

During her time on Mustique, Ellie was also in a “love triangle” with Joe Bradley and Bri Muller. Joe had been flirting with Ellie while kissing Bri, which caused tension between the two stews.
In a 2024 conversation with The Daily Dish, Ellie admitted that she felt like Joe was “leading both” of them on and neither she or Bri were “aware of what he was doing.”
“Because, you know, he was kind of having these flirty moments with us, but it was always in private,” she explained. “Bri would never see what he was saying to me, or how he was being with me and vice versa.”
After Joe left Mustique with Bri, he visited Ellie in Florida. But, things took a turn when they had a fight on his trip. Learn more about their friendship today.
