The Real Housewives of Orange County mom confirmed this in a recent house tour for BravoTV.com, years after she and her husband, Shane Simpson, began remodeling the Laguna Niguel property. Although the couple has made some pretty stunning upgrades to their family home, they have yet to tackle their primary bedroom. Why? Well, they knew it would be an ambitious undertaking.
Emily and Shane Simpson reveal the “vintage part” of their house
“Through here is the primary bedroom,” Emily said after showing off the new upstairs loft. “Are you ready? We’re gonna go from 2025 to 1993.”
As Emily and Shane entered the bedroom, she turned her direction toward the ensuite, saying it was the last bathroom that needed to be remodeled.
“I saved it for last because this is going to be huge,” she explained. “We’re going to have to rip everything out.”
“This is the vintage part of our house,” Shaned added.
Emily Simpson teases her primary bathroom makeover
Although quite spacious, the primary bathroom looked rather dated when compared to the rest of the house. The space featured light wood cabinets, beige tile flooring, a glass block shower, and a bathtub flanked by two white columns.

“It looks like The Sopranos… It’s dark and has columns,” Emily said in a previous interview with The Daily Dish. “I mean, the house was built in ’98, and it hasn’t been updated, so it’s like I don’t even want to hang anything nice in there or even make it pretty because it’s just so outdated. But that’s the next. I’m gonna do that soon.”
So, what did Emily envision for the bathroom? She told BravoTV.com that she planned to expand the archway that led to the ensuite and get rid of the dual closets.
“I want to take both of those closets out and make one big closet that’s mine,” she explained. “For more clothes — and pictures. And Shane? I don’t know what we can do with his stuff.”
“I’ll move in with Keller,” Shane said, referring to his and Emily’s son.
“OK, sounds good,” the Housewife responded. “And then we’ll redo the bathroom… But that’s next year. So you’ll have to come back to see that.”
Emily & Shane Simpson plan to update their backyard in 2027
Once the primary bathroom is finished, the Simpsons will turn their attention to their outdoor space.
“I also need to do the backyard, because the backyard is destroyed,” Emily said without providing any more details. “The bathroom next year and the backyard the year after that.”
