Although her home renovation has been pretty impressive, Emily Simpson confessed that there was one change she wasn’t exactly thrilled about.
“The fireplace is different,” The Real Housewives of Orange County mom said in a recent home tour for BravoTV.com. “I’m not sure how I feel about it.”
Emily’s husband, Shane Simpson, was seemingly surprised by her comment, as he assumed the fireplace was exactly how Emily envisioned it.
“What do you mean? You showed a lot of pictures and said, ‘I want this,’ and then he made it,” he told his wife.
“Yeah, but he didn’t make it exactly like the pictures,” Emily explained as she walked toward the white stone fireplace. “I thought that there might be more of a mantel. It’s a little narrow. I thought you could put more things there.”
Emily Simpson details her next home projects: “This is going to be huge”
Emily went on to highlight more upgrades to the Laguna Niguel abode she and Shane share with their three kids, 10-year-old sons Luke Simpson and Keller Simpson, and 12-year-old daughter Annabelle Simpson. She showed off the new hardwood floors that replaced the previous travertine flooring; a new built-in console in the family room; the upgraded kitchen with a beautiful stone island and window bench; and an upstairs loft that led to her and Shane’s bedroom.

“We’ve done a lot of renovations over the past — I don’t know, how long has it been since we’ve been on TV? Eight years? Seven years?” Emily said before heading into her ensuite bathroom. “Are you ready? We’re going from 2025 to 1993.”
Emily explained she had yet to remodel her and Shane’s bathroom because… well, she knew it would be a major undertaking.
“I saved it for last because this is going to be huge,” she said. “We’re going to have to rip everything out.”
Emily Simpson says her “outdated” bathroom will be updated “soon”
Emily touched on her bathroom plans in a previous interview with The Daily Dish, saying the space was very outdated.
“It looks like The Sopranos… It’s dark and has columns,” she said. “I mean, the house was built in ’98, and it hasn’t been updated, so it’s like I don’t even want to hang anything nice in there or even make it pretty because it’s just so outdated. But that’s the next. I’m gonna do that soon.”

Emily said she and Shane plan to tackle the primary bathroom in 2026 and will then turn their direction to their outdoor space.
“I also need to do the backyard, because the backyard is destroyed,” she said in the home tour. “So you’ll have to come back to see that.”
“In five years,” Shane added.
“No, the bathroom next year and the backyard the year after that,” the OC mom replied.
