Erika Jayne wasn’t lying: She and John McPhee really are taking things “slow.”
After six months of dating the retired Master Sergeant, Erika revealed she has yet to introduce her new boyfriend to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast. And she’s 100% fine with that.
“No, no one’s met him,” she said during a recent interview with Us Weekly. “I kind of like it like that because I like him. I know how bad these things are for your relationship. I’ve gone through too much on this. I would like to keep that relationship special and over here if I could.”

Erika confirmed the romance back in July, saying she had met John when she was performing at the London music festival Mighty Hoopla. Although the event marked their first face-to-face interaction, Erika said she was already familiar with John’s background.

“I’d seen John on these two podcasts,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s that guy. I’m gonna walk up and say hello,’ and that’s exactly what I did. See, that’s why I can’t speed date. I have to be the aggressor… Thank god he met me in full costume. We don’t have to spring that on him at a later date.”
Erika suggested that John had no idea who she was or what the Housewives world was about.
“He’s never seen the show, doesn’t know anything about it,” she added. “Like, this was not part of the plan.”

Erika entered the relationship roughly five years after filing for divorce from Tom Girardi. She addressed the split during her December 18 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, confirming her divorce was ongoing but was just “a pen stroke away” from being finalized.
“I filed for separation. It’s very difficult to get someone who’s incompetent to divorce,” she explained. “I have to ask the conservator. It’s just not that easy. Chill on that.”

Erika touched on her estranged marriage during her sit-down with Us Weekly, saying she was always drawn to people who were “confident and intelligent.”
“I was married to somebody that was really good at their job for a long time, and, obviously, that ended in a really bad way,” she said before gushing over her new beau, John. “He makes me feel really good and calm and peaceful. I enjoy having fun. He’s a normal, regular person and does not live in Los Angeles. I needed space from all of this… I needed a moment. It’s been a lot.”
