Extradition Process Begins for Mom Who Fled to U.K. After Allegedly Killing 2 Kids in Staged Robbery – Crime Online

On Monday, the extradition process began for a Colorado woman who reportedly fled to the United Kingdom after killing her two children last month.

Colorado Springs police found the bodies of Elianna Wentz, 6, and Aden Wentz, 9, during a reported robbery — while their mother, Kimberlee Singler, and their 11-year-old sibling were injured. Finding no evidence of a robbery, police issued an arrest warrant for Singler, who was eventually arrested in London on December 30, according to The Gazette.

During Monday’s court hearing, a Westminster Magistrates’ Court judge scheduled another hearing for February 26. By then, U.K. authorities expect to have documents from the U.S. to extradite Singler to Colorado, according to KUSA.

Reports indicated that Singler has multiple opportunities to appeal after the extradition is formally filed. From there, it is on the British government to make a final decision about whether she will be extradited to the U.S.

KUSA reported that questions surrounding Singler’s mental health could also delay the extradition process.

Singler did not request bond during Monday’s hearing. She remains jailed.
