Family Finds Missing Man’s Body in Well After Authorities Claimed He Wouldn’t Fit – Crime Online

A body found in a well on Saturday reportedly is a Massachusetts man who vanished in September.

Keith McKechnie, 45, had left his home in Avon on September 7. McKechnie’s brother and cousin said a relative recently used a GoPro camera to search a well on the property — leading him to spot something that made him call 911, according to WBTS.

Avon police said they previously searched the well for McKechnie. However, the fire department and other agencies ended up removing his body from that well following Saturday’s 911 call.

“We felt something nefarious happened because Keith didn’t have his wallet, cell phone, or his glasses. The glasses were found by the well on the ground. We were told that they had determined due to the size of the well and Keith’s build, he wouldn’t fit,” McKechnie’s cousin told WBTS.

After his disappearance, McKechnie’s family said he had undisclosed health issues that made him not want to be approached. The Boston Herald reported that McKechnie was known to walk around the neighborhood.

There was no evidence of trauma on McKechnie’s body. His death remains under investigation as an autopsy is pending.
