OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (TCN) —Â A 40-year-old foster parent, youth pastor, and restaurant manager faces multiple counts after allegedly sexually abusing children in his care for years.
According to Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, the investigation began on Nov. 25, 2024. A female victim who is now 15 years old reportedly came forward and claimed her foster parent, Daniel Lamppin, sexually battered her from ages 6 to 8. He allegedly sexually abused her on three occasions and physically abused her once.
Lopez said that over the course of the investigation, authorities learned about another victim, who is now an adult. Lamppin allegedly began abusing the second victim within days of her moving into the home when she was 16. The alleged abuse continued for years.
According to Lopez, Lamppin worked as a manager for a Chick-fil-A restaurant and volunteered as a youth pastor at Connection Church, where he had access to children. The sheriff has urged any other victims to come forward.
Lamppin’s foster rights have since been suspended. According to Lopez, Lamppin and his wife were participating in a foster care program.
On May 27, Lamppin was booked into the Osceola County Corrections on 24 counts of sexual battery by a custodian.
Lopez said, “I’m glad these victims are brave and that they came forward.”
