OCALA, Fla. (TCN) —Â A 61-year-old man allegedly intentionally sprayed his disabled neighbors with sprinklers because he was upset over where their bus stops.
In a news release, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Cpl. Kyle Ferguson responded to a residence on April 30 to investigate allegations against Antonio Roman. Since August 2024, Roman has allegedly used his sprinklers twice a day to spray two victims with special needs.
Investigators learned the victims’ father wore swimwear to “shield his children from Roman’s sprinklers.” Roman allegedly aimed the sprinkler system directly at the school bus stop and activated it when the bus arrived and deactivated it when it left.
According to the sheriff’s office, Roman told authorities he wasn’t happy about the bus stop location, as it took up part of his driveway for the wheelchair ramp one of the victims used. Investigators allege he used surveillance cameras to track when the bus would arrive and leave.
Officials obtained a warrant for Roman’s arrest, but he was at his second home out of state at the time. When he returned to Florida, Roman turned himself in. He was arrested on Aug. 17 and faces four counts of stalking, two counts of battery on a disabled person, and two counts of battery.
