Florida police arrested a man on Friday for sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy and possibly giving him HIV.
The victim reported the crime in August 2024, though his current age was not disclosed. Pinellas County police said the incident, which occurred in unincorporated St. Petersburg, entailed Bobby McAffee, 62, pinning the boy to the ground and forcing his hands above his head while sexually assaulting him.
McAffee allegedly confessed to sexually assaulting the boy. McAffee also disclosed that he is HIV positive, according to police.
The victim revealed that he recently discovered he was also HIV positive, police said.
McAffee is charged with sexual battery of a child less than 12 years old. An investigation is ongoing.
