Floyd Bradley Jr., 46, faces a slew of charges including making a false report of a bomb, resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, Melbourne police received the threatening call to 911 around 9 p.m. on Thursday. Bradley allegedly stated he had been collecting materials to make a bomb and placed one near a causeway in Melbourne where there are several bars and restaurants.

“I generally blow up causeways,” he said, per the affidavit. “I blow up causeways in Orlando, Casselberry and Tampa. I blow them up. I shoot people that drive over the causeways.”
He went on to allegedly say he is a member of the Bloods gang, cartels and mobs and he “kill[s] people for a living including kids and pets.” The defendant also apparently told dispatchers about all the firearms he owns, including an AK-47, and would not answer questions about whether he was armed in that moment.
Bradley is no stranger to local law enforcement. He has called 911 some 45 times in the last six months, authorities say. Officers who arrived on the scene immediately recognized him from previous interactions. They noted his breath smelled of alcohol and he had an open can of Bud Ice next to him as he sat on a bench.
As cops were trying to take him into custody, he allegedly resisted and screamed “I’m gonna kill all of you.”
Police arrested him and he remained in the Brevard County Jail as of Monday afternoon without bond. He was assigned a public defender and his next court date is scheduled for Oct. 9.
