‘Food Network’ Chef Anne Burrell Died by Suicide, Officials Say – Crime Online

New York officials ruled on Thursday that Food Network star Anne Burrell took her own life in June.

The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Burrell’s death a suicide, listing her cause as “acute intoxication” due to the effects of alcohol, amphetamine, and antihistamines. Police previously said Burrell, 55, was found dead in her Brooklyn home on June 17, surrounded by about 100 pills, according to The New York Times.

In January, it was revealed that Burrell would not host “America’s Worst Cooks.” An Instagram user asked Burrell about her absence on the upcoming season — to which she responded, “Honestly I don’t know.”

The night before her death, Burrell reportedly performed improv for the first time at a venue in Brooklyn. Burrell’s husband allegedly found her lifeless the following morning and called 911.

Burrell’s family has not yet commented on the coroner’s report.
