SAVANNAH, Ga. (TCN) —Â A former Army soldier from Washington will spend the rest of his life behind bars for sexually abusing two children on a military reservation in Georgia.
According to federal prosecutors, in August 2017, Burak “sexually abused and raped two minor boys while they slept in the safety of their own beds” at the Fort Stewart Military Reservation. Three other witnesses reportedly testified, claiming Burak had sexually assaulted them when they were minors. One victim allegedly described years of abuse at the hands of the defendant.
U.S. Attorney Meg Heap said, “There are appropriately severe consequences for sexually assaulting children. We will continue to aggressively prosecute those who prey on the most innocent among us. The community is safer now that a sexual predator will spend the rest of his life imprisoned.”
