SUMMERVILLE, Ga. (TCN) — A 36-year-old man will spend decades behind bars for sexually abusing his adopted daughter and her friend during a sleepover.
The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office announced that Christopher Tidmore pleaded guilty on Aug. 7 to aggravated sexual battery, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, incest, statutory rape, and several counts of sexual exploitation of children. Tidmore received a life sentence with 38 years to be served without the possibility of parole.
According to prosecutors, the 15-year-old friend of Tidmore’s 15-year-old adopted daughter told authorities that the defendant had sexually abused her during a sleepover. Investigators reportedly obtained electronic evidence and learned Tidmore had used his cellphone to “record himself committing numerous acts of child molestation against his adopted daughter.” The district attorney’s office said there were multiple photos on the defendant’s phone of minors engaged in sexual acts, as well as an image of Tidmore’s genitals on a juvenile’s face.
According to authorities, a detective asked Tidmore if he had engaged in sexual activity with any juveniles, and he “casually” replied, “Yeah, my daughter.”
In a statement, District Attorney Clayton Fuller said, “Evil walks among us every day. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist, but this case proved otherwise. This monster stole the innocence of children, and Detective Josh Strauss hunted him down, pulled evil into the light, and made sure he will spend the majority of his days behind iron bars.”
