When one looks at Miami Heat, no player impacted the franchise more than one: Dwyane Wade. The Flash was drafted by the franchise in 2003, and he brought three championships to South Beach. To appreciate and honor the same, the Heat retired his jersey in 2020. Wade attended the ceremony with his wife, Gabrielle Union.
It was a beautiful ceremony, with the Heat playing ‘Enter Sandman’ for the 6ft 4″ guard as he walked out on the floor.

During halftime, the Heat put his #3 jersey up in the rafters. Wade became the 5th player to have his jersey retired by the franchise after Alonso Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Chris Bosh, and Michael Jordan.

However, the celebration got a little damp, quite literally.

Gabrielle Union spilled her drink on Dwyane Wade
Jersey retirement is an important milestone for any player, and Dwyane Wade made sure he looked baller for the same. Dressed in an all-black suit and shirt combo, Wade showed up looking dapper.
However, a loose ball changed the same. Early in the 2nd quarter, Andre Iguodala lost the handle of the ball, and it went toward Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. In order to block the ball, Wade put up his leg to save Gabrielle heroically from the ball.
This resulted in Union losing hold of her drink and spilling some on Wade’s suit.

While it wasn’t a lot of drink that got spilled, I’m sure Wade didn’t want to wet his suit right before his jersey retirement ceremony.

Dwyane Wade and Union spent $5 Million on their wedding
In 2014, Gabrielle Union tied the knot with Dwyane Wade. It was an elaborate affair that cost the couple around $5 Million. Wade spared no cost, right from his outfits, to what his guests wore. Wade wanted all eyes on him, and claimed it was his big day.
“Everyone wants to look good on their wedding day,” Wade told the New York Times. “And I’m not going around the back. My fiancée may have the bigger moment, but I want everyone to turn and see me when I’m walking down the aisle. I want my entrance.”
Having won 3 NBA rings till that point, Wade wanted his 4th ring to be all about him.
