Gary Lineker will NOT present BBC’s coverage of today’s FA Cup clash between Brighton and Grimsby after struggling with his voice on Saturday before ‘deteriorating overnight’ – with Alex Scott replacing him

• Instead, Alex Scott will present the game from the AmEx on Sunday afternoon

Gary Lineker will miss hosting duties on the BBC for the FA Cup on Sunday, after struggling with voice problems.

Lineker was due to front the broadcaster’s live coverage of the clash between Brighton and Grimsby on Sunday afternoon.

However, he was noticeably struggling with his voice during Saturday’s match between Manchester City and Burnley, and has withdrawn from Sunday’s plans after his voice deteriorated overnight, according to the BBC.

The match will instead be hosted by BBC colleague Alex Scott.

As viewers will have noticed yesterday, Gary Lineker was struggling with his voice and unfortunately it has deteriorated overnight.
