Next Gen NYC’s Georgia McCann just gave fans the lowdown on how to throw the perfect party, no matter the size or cause of celebration.
The ultimate party girl, joined by costar Ava Dash, sat with Bravo’s The Daily Dish to spill what elements she thinks you need to throw a good party. So few are as familiar with the city’s party circuit as the fourth-generation New Yorker, and she continues to lead the late-night charge for her friends in the Bravo series, available to watch now on Peacock.
As Georgia said in her recent sit-down with us, “People are fun, you know?” — which is precisely why the brand and events creative strategist knows how to get the party going. Plus, with a Diplo party at NYC’s famous Katz Deli and Anna Delvey’s House Arrest celebration serving as just a few of Georgia’s party-planning flexes, she remains the go-to girl for only the hottest events. The three tips Georgia had for throwing the party consisted of the right crowd, the right music, and the right venue. This, she said, was the trifecta of party planning.
“If all three align, for whatever your party goals are, you can’t go wrong,” she shared in our exclusive interview.
How did Georgia McCann get into planning parties for her career?
Georgia admitted she felt “very lost” once completing school (according to The Daily Beast, she graduated from New York University with a degree in screenwriting and production). However, Georgia said she found herself “graduating into a pandemic.”
“There wasn’t that much film work, and so I was not sure what I wanted to do,” she told The Daily Dish.
Georgia created a list of things she “naturally” liked doing, and “boom, boom, boom,” it came to her.
“One opportunity arose, almost right place, right time, toward the tail end of lockdown that provoked me to be able to throw my first Channel One event,” she continued. “And then I just kind of took it and ran with it, and I realized, like a year in, that it has a lot of the elements of things I naturally love to do and I’m naturally good at.”
She couldn’t have known then that her best party days were still ahead. “It kind of feels like everything was leading up to that in a weird way,” she said.
Georgia McCann explains the party scene in NYC
As big as New York City might be, the party scene can feel a wee bit small when you have access to some of the best events there are. Georgia recently shared that she was spotted in another Bravo series long before joining Next Gen NYC.
“I randomly am in the background of one of the Summer House episodes from years ago,” she said. “A friend of a friend was dating someone on the show at the time. And, like, we got invited to the finale party.”
Funny enough, Next Gen NYC’s Brooks Marks said he had seen Kyle Cooke at a Southampton nightclub about three years earlier. As is the central theme in Summer House, it’s not uncommon for some working in Manhattan to make the 100-mile schlep to the Hamptons — especially in the summer — to enjoy weekends filled with beach breaks, cookouts, and some of the biggest events of the season.

“I think I’ve randomly been at a big dinner, and someone from the [Summer House] cast has been on it, but yeah, they’re around,” Georgia continued. “They’re around.”
