Georgia Parolee Charged With Woman’s Murder – Crime Online

A Georgia man released from prison in May has been charged with murder in the death of a Swainboro woman found dead in her home earlier this week.

Charles Justin Davis, 40, has been charged with one count of malice murder in the death of 34-year-old Amber Nichole Fields, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

Fields was found dead in her home by a family member who checked on her when she didn’t report for work. Davis was arrested later the same day.

Fields survived and eventually recovered from a brutal beating in 2011, when doctors told her family that she would likely be brain dead, WTOC reported. Jason Browning, Fields’ boyfriend at the time, pleaded guilty to the attack the following year and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

According to WRDW, Davis served six years in prison for an aggravated assault conviction before his parole.
