England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley is set to consider his future after this summer’s European Championships.

In the event of Carsley’s departure, it is understood Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Scott Parker will be among the coaches the FA sound out over the role.

It has long been the governing body’s ambition to draft more former international players under their umbrella.

After two years in the role, the former Everton midfielder is ready to consider his involvement with the Football Association beyond the Euros as he contemplates a return to club management.
