Gia Giudice Shares Moving Timeline & Defends Living at Home

Gia Giudice isn’t ready to fly the nest just yet.

The 24-year-old Next Gen NYC cast member explained on the Sept. 15 episode of her Casual Chaos podcast that she currently doesn’t have a timeline for when she plans to leave her family’s Montville mansion, where she lives with mom Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Gia, more specifically, admitted there is no “end date” in sight, despite her mother telling her it might be time to move. As she put it on the podcast, “It’s so nice living at home.”

Continued the eldest of Teresa’s daughters, “I get scrutinized every single day, and they’re, like, ‘Oh, you’re living off mommy’s money, this is what you’re doing, you’re living at home, oh, mommy’s paying your bills.’ And, I’m like, ‘Only if you knew.’”

As an example, Gia pointed out that her car insurance bill is taken from her bank account every three months. That, and for some, living at home into adulthood isn’t out of the norm. RHONJ’s Jennifer Aydin also highlighted this in Gia’s Instagram comments, stating, “In my culture, we stay at home until we get married.”

Gia further discussed her car insurance bill on a recent episode of Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live, during which time host Jeff Lewis couldn’t help but comment on her stunning collection of Cartier Love bracelets. Wondered the Flipping Out star, “Are all those Love bracelets yours or did you borrow them from your mom?”

“They’re mine,” Gia contended. “I buy them for myself.”

Teresa wondered if any of the four-or-so bracelets — which start at about $5,000 and reach upwards of $50,000 online — were a gift from her. Although Teresa claimed she still pays for Gia’s cell phone, and stepdad Luis “Louie” Ruelas foots the bill for her health insurance, Gia maintained, “I’m literally on my own.”

Jeff wittily pushed back, “Well, you’ve got your own income now, and she’s using the money to buy very expensive Cartier bracelets,” to which Teresa admitted that her oldest daughter “goes shopping all the time.”

“You should be paying your car insurance,” Jeff continued, with Teresa’s approval. “I mean, that’s ridiculous. She has $100,000 on her wrist.”

All laughed when co-host Shane Douglas reminded them, “But, she’s doing it on her own.”

Gia Giudice’s living situation and moving timeline, explained

Gia returned to Teresa and Louie’s mansion after graduating from Rutgers University in 2023.

Her hunt for a new place began in June when she found it “super exhausting” to commute back and forth between the Garden State and the Big Apple, she told Today

Explained Gia, “It’s a lot. My schedule has only picked up since Next Gen NYC, which is funny, because it picked up the summer we were filming Next Gen, and no one knew that we were filming it. It’s just my career kind of started picking up, and my brand started growing, and I am in the city at least four times a week, so it’s a lot of back and forth from Jersey.”

In August, she said she was “desperate” to leave home, citing the commute as to why she missed out on NYC-based events.

Not long ago, Gia took audiences with her on Instagram as she and longtime BF Christian Carmichael searched for apartments in Hudson County, New Jersey. The influencer and content creator said she was “So so so excited for this new chapter,” giving followers a glimpse into potential homes around Hoboken and Jersey City. As of her Aug. 7 social media posts, Gia planned to continue her apartment search the following weekend.

Don’t miss Gia’s recent regret from a date night with Christian.
