Gina Kirschenheiter has shared her emotional, real-time reaction to Travis Mullen’s marriage proposal.
Just days after announcing her long-awaited engagement, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom released camera phone footage of Travis popping the question. The moment went down during the couple’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Big Bear, California, where they were joined by their respective kids.

“After 8 years on television, what I loved most about this moment was that there were no cameras around except for my stepdaughter hiding in the woods,” Gina captioned the January 10 Reel. “I will cherish this unexpected, simple, beautiful moment forever. Thank you Travis, I love you.”
The video captured Gina standing on the back porch while Travis held her close, said a few words, and got on one knee. The clip, which was soundtracked by The Cinematic Orchestra’s “To Build a Home,” also included Gina’s narrative captions.
“Wait for one of the best moments of my life. Omg is he going to propose to me?!?” she wrote. “Nooo. He’s not going to propose to me. Holy shit he’s proposing to me!!!”
As seen in the Reel, Travis then presented Gina with the 6-carat diamond engagement ring. Gina proceeded to put her hands over her face, nodded “yes,” and leaned in for a kiss.
“Total shock!!! YES! Of course!” she continued. “Best kiss of my life. Trying not to pass out. Still processing… Look at this stunner!”

As the moment began sinking in, Gina looked at Travis and asked, “Do the children know this is happening?!?”
Travis then gestured toward the camera, revealing Presley — his firstborn from a previous relationship — was filming from afar.

“Yes, they are inside waiting to celebrate and Presley is out in the woods capturing the moment!” she concluded the post. “Best moment ever.”
Gina also shared the candid video on TikTok, where she described the proposal as “simple” and “pure magic.”

“I was in complete shock!” Gina told People magazine about her engagement. “My nervous system was trying to catch up to what just happened in this magical moment, and I was trying to process the iceberg that was being presented to me as well! I, of course, said ‘yes,’ and melted into what was the sweetest kiss I’ve ever felt!”
Gina told the outlet that she, Travis, and Presley immediately embraced each other after the proposal, and then returned inside to join the rest of their children.
“It was perfect! It meant so much to be there as a family celebrating all together,” she added. “We were all so happy. Truly a pinnacle moment.”

Gina began dating Travis in 2019, about a year after filing for divorce from Matt Kirschenheiter. Gina and her ex-husband share three kids: 13-year-old son Nicholas, 11-year-old daughter Sienna, and 10-year-old son Luca. In addition to Presley, 14, Travis entered the relationship with daughter Bennett, 12, and son Joey, 9.
