Golnesa Gharachedaghi Explains House, Moving Troubles

How to Watch

The Valley Persian Style premieres Thursday, January 8 at 9/8c on Bravo. Episodes stream next day on Peacock.

Golnesa Gharachedaghi is on the hunt for a new home in the series premiere of The Valley: Persian Style, but the single mom of 5-year-old Elijah has one big problem: lofty expectations for her new pad.

“You know, right now, my house is six bedrooms. I’m looking for something that’s like four bedrooms or five bedrooms. That’s a big downsize for me,” the Shahs of Sunset alum explained during the two-part Jan. 8 premiere. “My son has a bedroom. My son has a playroom. I have a guest room.”

She then shared why she needs her other two bedrooms: “The rest are closets. I need the space. My clothes need the space. What are my clothes going to do? Put them outside? They’re not animals. I don’t even put my animals outside.”

She added that the only reason she was being forced to move is that her “landlord wants to move back in” to the home she rents. But, she admitted her credit was a hurdle since her parents have “always helped” her financially.

“The realtor texted me last night that GG’s not approved,” Reza Farahan informed his husband, Adam Farahan, and Golnesa. “They wanted you as a tenant, but when they saw your bank statement and your credit report, that’s when things went left.”

Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s house hunt caused a rift with Mercedeh Javid and Reza Farahan

Reza, who was helping Golnesa in her real estate search, decided to sit her down for a “big brother” conversation about her financial situation during the Jan. 8 episodes.

“You spend money like money grows on trees,” he said. “I want you to spend five or six thousand dollars a month, not nine thousand dollars a month, on rent.”

But Golnesa insisted that she needed the space of a bigger home. “I’m not going into a shoebox. I just won’t do it,” she replied.

After disagreeing with Reza, Golnesa turned to another real estate agent and friend, Mercedeh Javid, for help.

“Can you please find me a place right now, because I’m actually desperate,” she pleaded. “I don’t have any credit to buy anything, and I’ve never been a buyer. The mortgage on a house that I have to buy is not what I can afford.”

But when Golnesa discovered her finances had been a topic of conversation among her friends ahead of her arrival at a party, she became angry and walked out.

“I know that Golnesa wants to bury her head in the sand and pretend like the problems aren’t there, but that is not adulting, sis,” Mercedeh told producers.

The outburst caused Reza and Mercedeh to sit Golnesa down again to talk money, and Reza urged her to consider lowering her standards.

“My advice: If you downsize for a certain amount of time, to build up reserves, then you do have enough money to buy the type of house that you expect to live in,” he explained. But Golnesa insisted, “I’m not going to downgrade my life.”

Although the trio couldn’t agree on Golnesa’s home, they did agree on one thing: Reza would no longer be her real estate agent.

“While I know his heart is in the right place, his approach is too aggressive. I don’t want to hear about it anymore,” Golnesa shared with producers.

Inside Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s past searches for her dream home

Reza and Golnesa teaming up to find her a new home is familiar territory, as the duo also toured residences together in Shahs of Sunset Season 9.

“It is time for me to move, because honey, I cannot fit in what I used to fit in when it was just me and one cat,” she said at the time. “Now it’s me, two cats, a Rottweiler, a grandma, a nanny, and a little baby.”

Later in the season, she declared she’d finally “found a house,” and she showed off her cozy digs, which were furnished with beige armchairs and lots of green plants, on her Instagram in July 2024.

She also posted pics of her bathroom that featured a floor-to-ceiling mirror, a light-up vanity, and a chair for getting glam.
