A woman was found dead on the street on Monday in what Arizona police are investigating as a hit-and-run.
Sally Alcaraz Rodriguez, 75, was found deceased on a road in Tucson. Police, who noted that her personal property was discovered west of her body, said they are unsure where exactly the fatal collision occurred, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
KVOA reported that interviews and evidence suggest a vehicle left Rodriguez’s body in the roadway, where she was located on Monday.
Rodriguez’s family told KOLD that on the night in question, she was on her way to work as a caregiver for her 100-year-old patient.
“It’s a dark neighborhood, but if there had been more lighting, maybe someone could’ve seen something and prevented something bad from happening,” her son-in-law said.
Investigators described the suspect’s car as a dark-colored sports car. The suspect’s description was not provided.
Rodriguez’s death is being investigated as a hit-and-run. Anyone who has information regarding this case can call anonymously at 88-CRIME.
