Colorado police said on Thursday that a man they arrested last month for indecent exposure is now accused of ejaculating onto food while employed at a grocery store.
Stephen Masalta, 32, was arrested in February amid an investigation into a series of sex offenses that occurred outside Fort Collins and Loveland businesses starting in July 2023. Masalta mostly targeted coffee shops — where he was spotted masturbating outside these businesses while apparently looking at female employees (including at least one juvenile) through a window, according to the Coloradoan.
Police said a review of digital evidence at Masalta’s home uncovered that he also ejaculated onto food items while working at a Safeway in Fort Collins between December and February of this year.
The food Masalta allegedly tampered with was not commercially sealed. Investigators believe there will be more victims as they are still reviewing video evidence.
In addition to 14 counts of indecent exposure, Masalta is charged with attempted unlawful sexual contact, attempted sexual assault on a child, and attempted indecent exposure. A police spokesperson explained to the Coloradoan that he is charged with crimes against children as they believe juveniles consumed the food he tampered with.
Masalta was given a $25,000 bond and is due in court next week.
