Heather Dubrow just gave us an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at The Real Housewives of Orange County. In the video above, the Housewife flips the script and interviews the show’s supervising producer, Kim Ofria, giving viewers new insight into the OG housewives franchise.Â
In the video, exclusive to BravoTV.com, Kim tells Heather that they’re done filming for the day, but the New York native has other plans. “Hey listen, a little birdie told me that [BravoTV.com] wants to hear more from you,” she tells Kim. “So, why don’t we do a little switch of the seats, and I’m gonna interview you.”Â
As the two switch spots, the producer admits that being on camera is a little “intimidating.” “Do I get glam?” Kim asks.
“No, Sorry,” Heather responds as she eagerly pulls up interview questions on her phone.
“You know when you have the dream that you’re like naked in a classroom full of people,” Kim says. “This is worse, I think.”
Heather Dubrow sheds light on filming RHOCÂ with the show’s production crew
Before Heather starts interviewing the RHOC producer, she takes a minute to acknowledge the show’s behind-the-scenes team. “I think what people don’t realize is that even though it’s a reality show and it’s not scripted and we’re living our lives and all that, our producers, and our crew, and our camera people, and our sound, and our light — everyone, we’re all part of the same team and sometimes it is difficult to not blur the lines between everything,” Heather declares.
Kim agrees, saying she holds herself to a certain “amount of professionalism” with the cast, but after challenging and overwhelming moments, like group trips, everyone comes together as a team and breathes a “sigh of relief.”
“I have to remind myself not to overshare with you guys constantly, but then I do anyways,” the producer admits.
Heather Dubrow and an RHOC producer open up about what would “shock” fansÂ
When Heather asks Kim to share a fact about the show that would stun viewers, the producer has a lot to say. “I think people forget that this is your guys’ real lives, and I know the universe tries to be like ‘oh this person did this for the camera’ or whatever, but the real stuff is really real,” Kim shares.
“And I think that would be surprising [to fans] is how raw and vulnerable some of these moments can actually be,” she continues.Â
Heather responds, saying that it’s “funny” to see the number of people who think the show is scripted. If it was, she says, it would make her and her castmates lives “a lot easier.”
Then, the mom of four asks the producer which Housewife knows they’re on TV, and which cast member forgets. Although Kim refuses to answer the first question, she does share some thoughts on the cast. She said, “I feel like someone who forgets they’re on a show is Shannon [Storms Beador]. She will just, if she gets in the zone… she’s gonna say whatever she’s gonna say, she’s gonna do whatever she’s gonna do. Tamra [Judge] is a close second to that one.”

An RHOCÂ producer reveals a “favorite” scene in the show to Heather Dubrow
Later in the interview, Heather asks Kim what clip of RHOC she’d use to teach aliens about the show. The RHOC producer immediately thinks of a scene that she filmed during her first week of working on the production. “[My] first all-cast [scene] comes around, and guess what happens? It is a ‘we are camera down,'” she said.
For those who don’t know, Kim is referring to the well-known scene in RHOC Season 16, Episode 2, when Heather’s $36,000 sushi party fell apart. During the party, Heather even asked the producers to stop filming, resulting in the iconic “camera down” quote. The moment lives on in the hearts of RHOC fans.

Kim goes on to say that the party chaos lasted for over an hour, meaning viewers only got a small glimpse of the tense night. “Heather was looking for a showrunner; she couldn’t find him. People were running around asking what was going on, and I feel like I would show the aliens that,” Kim adds.
“It’s very true,” Heather agrees. “That’s a good answer.”
