It’s been a lingering financial burden for Heather Dubrow and her husband Dr. Terry Dubrow, but The Real Housewives of Orange County couple recently sold their Beverly Hills home, with help from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ Josh Flagg and Josh Altman. Now, Heather is opening up on her feelings on the big moment.

“I mean, I think we’re so excited,” she told The Daily Dish in an exclusive interview. “I think we’re just excited to move on.”

The Dubrows first purchased the 9,000-square-foot mansion in July 2023 for $16 million with the idea of renovating it into their “dream house.” But then Heather told host Andy Cohen the construction was “a disaster” during the RHOC Season 18 reunion — and it only got worse from there.

“I think after all these years we’re pretty good at listening to the universe. And it was clearly not the project,” Heather admitted to The Daily Dish.

Heather and Terry shared their struggles to renovate the home on RHOC Season 19, with Terry remarking, “This place looks like s—t,” during the season premiere. Heather also confessed they “ended up with a contractor that came in $8 million over the budget” on the July 10 episode.

“We had issues with the contractor. Fires happened — the fire insurance,” Heather added while speaking to The Daily Dish, referencing the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025 that impacted many Bravolebs, including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Bozoma Saint John. “Like, it was a lot of things. We reevaluated, and we decided it wasn’t the right project for us.”

Heather Dubrow admits it was a struggle to sell her Beverly Hills mansion

Terry voted to “sell” and “move on” from the Beverly Hills mansion on the RHOC Season 19 premiere, and although some renovations were completed, Josh Altman pointed out during a tour in Episode 4, “You’re not gonna make some crazy amount of money.” During Episode 8, Terry declared, “We just want to break even.”

Although Heather shared “we thought it would take 90 days to sell,” during the August 28 episode, the house didn’t go as quickly as the Dubrows had hoped.

“The Joshs have had a couple of showings but no real bites yet,” she admitted. “Every real estate purchase is a gamble. And this is what life’s about: taking risks.”

She added, “If I had had a crystal ball, and I could have seen what was gonna happen, would we have bought that property? F—k no.”

Ultimately, the home ended up selling for $16.5 million in August 2025.

Why Heather Dubrow has two apartments in the same building

Before purchasing the Beverly Hills mansion, Heather and Terry invested in a Los Angeles penthouse that Heather referred to as a “love shack” during BravoCon 2022. But during Season 19’s Episode 8, Heather made another reveal: she and Terry were also now renting a second Los Angeles apartment to accommodate their four children.

“When I have everyone home, it is so good. We have another apartment downstairs in our building,” she shared. “So, it’s where everyone has dinner together. It’s where we watch television together. It’s like our family house.”

She gave more details during The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show on what she called the “dumb” living situation, adding she and Terry leased the apartment “for another year.”

“We sleep downstairs with the kids,” she told Shannon Storms Beador. “And then I left all my stuff upstairs.”

She added, “I take Ace to school, and then I go to pilates, and then I go back to the apartment—upstairs apartment—and that’s where I shower and get dressed. My desk is up there. I have a little podcast studio. But then, I go pick him up, [and] we have dinner downstairs…I just go up and down.”

Heather explained the penthouse is still “more for, quite frankly, sexy time,” and told the After Show producers it’s “because on the lower floor, the walls are thin.”

Heather Dubrow is considering buying a family home in New York City

The Dubrows might not be quite done with their real estate ventures just yet. Heather chatted with her children about the idea of a “family house,” describing it on the August 28 episode of RHOC as a “place where we could have holidays, and where you could leave your stuff.”

“For the time being, what we’re doing is a Band-Aid,” Heather said to describe the family’s current living situation. “We will always need a place to gather. I don’t want them to just come for dinner. I want them to have to stay.”

She speculated exactly where that home might be on the RHOC After Show.

“Originally I thought that was L.A.,” she admitted. “But I now realize, a couple of my kids might end up there, [but] no one’s going to stay over at my house. They’ll come for dinner and they’re going to leave.”

Heather added that she and Terry had considered “a place out in the desert,” but with her children Max and Kat on the East Coast, “Who knows?”

She also floated New York City as a possibility. “I still look at places [in Manhattan] all the time,” Heather said on the After Show. “I almost bought a place right at the beginning of the pandemic. And we didn’t get it. And I still regret it.”

She added, “I wouldn’t live there full time. Someday I’d like to do Broadway, and I would totally live there for a while. Love it.”

But, Heather clarified for now, it’s a waiting game.

“I have no idea where the kids are going to end up. So I’m just going to wait until they land somewhere, and then we’ll worry about a family home,” she said on the August 28 episode of RHOC.

Don’t miss Heather’s shocking confession about her husband, and why Terry admitted to being “pissed” about the reveal.
