The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Heather Gay has her game face on to co-host Peacock’s Reality Hot Seat. Heather, alongside Below Deck‘s Kate Chastain, TV and podcast host Justin Sylvester , and “Boston Rob” Mariano from The Traitors, are on hand to offer up some commentary and dish on all the hot moments during the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs on December 7. Summer House‘s West Wilson also joins the event as a sideline reporter in Kansas City.
We mean, we’ve long believed that football has reality-TV worthy levels of drama, so we know what we’re doing this weekend to confirm our suspicions. The Daily Dish spoke to Heather, via email, before the big event, and she revealed all about the similar dynamics between reality TV and football. And, of course, her gameday style when it comes to tuning into a big NFL match.
The Daily Dish: How are you prepping for this big inaugural Reality Hot Seat event?
Heather Gay: I’m in training – I’m eating all my favorite snacks, binge-watching all my favorite Real Housewives reunions, and reading the sports section of Page Six.
The Daily Dish: What’s your game plan for Reality Hot Seat?
Heather: I’m no Mike Tirico [from NBC Sports], but I’m hoping to call a legendary NFL moment. Anything can happen.
The Daily Dish: What makes football and reality TV so similar?
Heather: They are both a game of inches and power dynamics. Who’s up? Who’s down? Who’s calling the plays? And who keeps moving the goalposts…

Heather Gay breaks down her favorite football gameday snacks
The Daily Dish: What are your favorite snacks when watching a football game?
Heather: High-energy, anxiety-crushing snacks that you can eat mindlessly – I’m a fan of popcorn and hot tamales after I’ve had something healthy first – like hot wings.
The Daily Dish: What kind of fan are you when you’re rooting on your favorite team? Are you superstitious? Super loud? What is your rooting style?
Heather: I’m a loud, team gear-wearing, ride or die loyal fan, even when hope seems lost.
