Now that The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Ashley Darby has officially entered her “second bloom” era, the mom of two is considering growing her family — and one of her sons may have already tipped the scales in her decision-making process.
On The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show for Season 10, Episode 8, Ashley, who shares sons Dean, 6, Dylan, 4, with ex-husband Michael Darby, opened up to fellow single mom Monique Samuels about dating post-divorce and possibly having at least one more kid.
“I can’t put my finger on it, exactly when the moment happened that I decided I potentially want more children,” Ashley shared in the above clip. “And I will say that Dylan, my younger son, he says to me all the time that I’m gonna give him a sister.”

After Monique chimed in with an “aww,” Ashley continued, “Yeah, he’s like, ‘Mom, I’m gonna have a little sister.’ And he says it straight-faced.”
Monique replied, “Like he knows it. And he’s your son, so if he’s saying that, that means he either dreamt it or… Yeah, I can see you with a little mini-me. I can see that.”
Ashley Darby opens up about dating after her Wale run-in on RHOP
As Ashley put it to Monique elsewhere in the RHOP After Show clip, “We’re in the same boat though. It’s about finding a good partner, you know?”
One person Ashley seems to have already eliminated from contention is her Bravo’s Love Hotel ex Wale Alesh, who popped up in RHOP‘s Nov. 23 episode.
Ashley gave Monique a quick recap of their Love Hotel “connection” on the After Show, explaining, “Because of his age, he’s 38, he’d never been married, no kids, I just didn’t think that he and I were really aligned. So, I was like, ‘Eh, I’m just gonna, like, set you free.'”

Another reason Ashley didn’t choose Wale in the Love Hotel finale, she said, was because she thought he might have also liked castmate Gizelle Bryant “more than a friend.” She continued, “So, I was like, on top of everything else, like, you’re just not my guy.”
Either way, Ashley still felt a certain way when Wale showed up to RHOP‘s Reasonably Shady 10 million downloads party with bouquets of flowers for Gizelle and co-host Robyn Dixon, who skipped the celebration.
“Mind you, he’s never even met Robyn, could not pick Robyn out of a lineup,” Ashley vented to Monique. “He should’ve brought three bouquets. OK? You haven’t kissed anybody else in this place but me. We actually kissed.”
Ashley Darby revealed her timeline for having more kids
During BravoCon 2025, Ashley spilled even more intel on the future of her romantic life, including exactly when she hopes to expand her family.
“Oh, I am getting married again,” Ashley declared during Nov. 15’s “Getting Lucky at the Love Hotel” panel. “It’s a manifestation. I’m speaking it into existence that I will be getting married again. And I kind of want another baby… I’m thinking within the next two years.”
Though Ashley, a self-described “demisexual,” admitted that she might be interested in Below Deck Down Under‘s Chef Ben Robinson — and is still involved with Josh Gudenburr from RHOP Season 9 — she also shared with the Las Vegas crowd that she’s keeping her options open.
Sharing some dating advice she’d privately given Lala Kent during BravoCon weekend, Ashley concluded, “What I told her is, ‘You need to have a public boyfriend and a private boyfriend. You just need to have a little roster… have one that you take out to play and another one to cuddle with at night.'”
