Who Was Amanda Hoffert?
Before she was an RN at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, Amanda was a beloved daughter and friend. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and went to high school in Huntingdon County. After graduating from college with a degree in nursing, she moved back home to Lancaster where she started working as an RN at Women & Babies Hospital. In 2019 she joined the team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health where she touched countless lives with her care and compassion.
How did Amanda Hoffert die? What was the cause of her death?
According to police reports, the Hofferts were the victims of a horrific tragedy on Saturday, March 11th. Amanda and Bret were involved in a 4-wheeler accident while on a weekend getaway in the mountains with friends. Amanda died at the scene, and Bret is now in critical condition in a Pittsburgh trauma center. While details about what happened on that fateful day are still being investigated by authorities, we can confirm that Amanda died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. Her family has requested privacy during this time as they grieve their loss and plan her funeral services, which will take place later this month.
