It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Dr. William Wert Jr., DO, commonly known to many as Bill Wert. He passed away on Thursday, March 9th, 2023. Who Was Dr. Bill Wert?
Dr. Bill began his healthcare career as a Physician Assistant at Geisinger Wyoming Valley ICU before going on to graduate from medical school at the Lake Erie College of Medicine and completing his general surgery residency at Geisinger Northeast Surgery Residency. He then joined the Geisinger St Luke’s general surgery practice shortly before his passing.
Doctor Bill was devoted to his wife and children and was the only one who could provide for them financially. His passion for helping others was clear through his work in healthcare and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him or were lucky enough to receive care from him during his time as a doctor.

The world is a little less bright without Dr Bill Wert Jr., DO showing us all how much one person can accomplish when they dedicate themselves passionately to their craft like he did with medicine and patient care throughout his incredible life journey that ended far too soon for those who loved him dearly. Although we may never know what ultimately caused Dr Bill’s passing until more information is released officially, we can take comfort knowing that he left this world having accomplished so much both professionally and personally while providing support for those around him when they needed it most—leaving behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten by anyone fortunate enough to have known him or received treatment from him during his lifetime as a wonderful doctor dedicated to providing quality care wherever it was needed most..
