He graduated from Riceville High School in 1989 and attended the University of Northern Iowa where he earned his degree in marketing and business administration in 1993. He returned home to Riceville where he began working as an auctioneer for his family’s business—Behr Auction Company—which specializes in real estate auctions, livestock auctions, farm equipment auctions, and more throughout Iowa and the Midwestern United States.
