Kaitlin Schaumberger was a passionate student who attended Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois. She was a member of the DHS Class of 2022 and was an active participant in many activities including theatre, choir, and theater tech. Her friends describe her as being “full of life” and someone that always put others first. She had a bright future ahead of her and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Kaitlin passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 10th from apparent complications related to Covid and Pneumonia. News sources report that she had been hospitalized for several weeks prior to her death due to these complications but that no official cause has been given yet by medical officials. It is unclear whether she contracted Covid-19 or not but it is clear that her passing has left those around her with heavy hearts.

The family has released an obituary for Kaitlin which reads as follows: “Kaitlin Schaumberger went home to Jesus on Friday, March 10th after experiencing unexpected health complications due to Covid-19 and Pneumonia. She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly; parents Steve and Lynne Schaumberger; siblings Steve (Sarah) Schaumberger Jr., Andrew (Mary) Schaumberger; nieces Lauren and Sydney; nephews Mason and Jake; grandmothers Shirley Jones Bullock, Jodell Molinelli; uncles Ed Jones Jr., Joe Molinelli Jr.; aunt Donna (Paul) Swanberg; cousins Steven Jones III & Jenni Jones along with many extended family members & friends” Friends have also started an online memorial page for Kaitlin where people can leave tributes honoring the life of such a wonderful person who touched so many people’s lives in such a short amount of time.

Kaitlin always made it comfortable to be yourself. She lit up every room she walked into. I have so many videos of her cracking me up – she didn’t have to try hard. She always made sure the people around her were happy. I love her and miss her so much. She will be truly missed ??

My sincerest condolences. Kaitlin was a very kind person with a good soul. I remember having theater homeroom with her in high school and she really got us through it with her personality and wit. I remember having to do a project with her as well in that class and it was a lot of fun. We didn’t stay in touch, but seeing her posts on Facebook every now and then was always very nice.
