Southern Charm’s Shep Rose has (another) story to tell, and soon, fans will be able to read it, thanks to his latest career move.
The Hilton Head Islander took to his Instagram Stories to share a selfie with his laptop in the background, where eagle-eyed fans caught a glimpse of his second book, Nothing in Moderation. As Shep reported in the text, “Just finished final edits on book,” he stated. “Nothing in Moderation release date is late May/early June.”
The book, which he discussed in a previous exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, marks the businessman’s second memoir following 2021’s Average Exceptions: Lessons in Lowering the Bar, which he wrote during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to what Shep said in December, the new book is subtitled, “A Psychedelic Reckoning with Excess,” and dives into Shep “going to do ayahuasca.”

What does Shep Rose do for a living?
The Charlestonian entrepreneur and socialite has juggled several career routes in the past. Not only has he claimed financial stakes in some of the South Carolina city’s hotspots and bars over the years, but he’s also the proud owner of Shep Gear, a clothing line launched in 2016 and known for its coastal-themed tees, hats, and drink koozies.

He has also dabbled in real estate before ever joining Southern Charm, as he revealed in a 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I’ve worked in Dubai. I’ve sold real [estate]. I lived in Dubai and sold real estate. It was crazy,” he said. “So right now I’m happy just kind of being the bon vivant as it were.”
Since then, he considered getting back into real estate with former Charm-er Cameran Eubanks and briefly starred in his own Bravo show, RelationShep.
More recently, in December, he and Whitney Sudler-Smith teased an “adventure show” in the works. “Filming some fun things; just like, shenanigans,” Shep told The Daily Dish.

Details on Shep Rose’s accomplished family
Shep comes from generational wealth, a fact he’s discussed since the earliest day of Southern Charm. His lineage comes from the renowned Boykin kin (for which the Boykin Spaniel dog breed was named after), and if that wasn’t enough, one of the characters from the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby was named after his great aunt.
For this and more, Shep counts himself “super lucky” to have such a “very accomplished” family, including parents William and Frances Rose, an older sister, Katie, and a younger brother, Whitaker. As he joked to The Daily Dish in 2019, “They’re all very accomplished … and then there’s me.”
