Although Mercedeh Javid and Tommy Feight announced their divorce after seven years of marriage back in October 2025, there were hints of trouble in their relationship during the filming of The Valley: Persian Style. Golnesa Gharachedaghi was among those who picked up on it, and made a foreboding prediction of her own during Episode 3.
“I’ll tell you something, that girl has been getting work done to her,” Golnesa observed of Mercedeh, and then warned, “And anytime one person in a marriage starts looking good, it’s a divorce coming.”
The remark came after Golnesa sat Mercedeh down to chat during Sky Askari’s trunk show, as Tommy was mysteriously missing from the party. His absence was noticed by others in the Jan. 15 episode, including Sky, Reza Jackson and Greg Haroutunian, who all admitted they’d never actually met Tommy. As Golnesa questioned Mercedeh on Tommy’s whereabouts, Mercedeh began complimenting Golnesa’s jewelry — and Golnesa called her out on “distracting [from] the conversation” about her husband.
“How are you feeling in these group settings?” Golnesa finally asked, and Mercedeh admitted, “I would like my significant other.”
Golnesa pressed on, asking if Mercedeh felt “sad.”
“There could have been a sad point, and then in order to survive through sad, you have to pivot and get somewhere else,” Mercedeh ominously answered.
It prompted Golnesa to wonder why Mercedeh was staying in an unhappy marriage. “I think Mercedeh’s afraid to be alone,” she told producers. “She’s also very insecure. So maybe she’s thinking, how’s she going to find another guy to love her?”
Mercedeh also hinted to producers of her heartache. “Tommy’s absence is starting to wear on me, but I know it’s really complicated because Tommy and Reza [Farahan] haven’t seen each other in like five years,” she shared of Reza and Tommy’s falling out. “I think that Tommy could make more of an effort. I’m not telling him to jump off a cliff. You know, you’re my husband. We’re a team. It’s not about you. It’s about us.”
To Golnesa, Mercedeh argued, “I would like to focus on my business and my career, and the last thing right now I want to think about? ‘Let me analyze what’s missing in my marriage.’ I can’t. I’m not really there right now.”
But Golnesa urged her to think of herself. “I just don’t want you to become suppressed and numb to a situation. Because he’s this way, you’re this way. So you’re just mirroring him,” Golnesa said.
Mercedeh Javid and Tommy Feight break down their relationship issues
Tommy was made aware of his wife’s unhappiness in their marriage during a combative sit-down with Mercedeh’s mother, Vida, in Episode 2.
“She doesn’t feel safe in this marriage,” Vida told him at the time, and later added, “You have to do something to improve your relationship.”
But Tommy argued that marriage is a two-way street during the Jan. 15 episode. “I’m tired of being put into a position where I’m the one that needs to fix things,” he told producers. “I’m the one that needs to get better. I have mood swings, for sure, I can be grumpy sometimes, but like, I feel like I get singled out a lot. No one’s looking at the other side of the street like, ‘How are you acting?’”

When Tommy confronted Mercedeh about her mother’s words, she shared what she thought could help the couple. “I would like for us to have a safe, calm, space where when one of us wants to talk about something,” she told Tommy, then accused, “What you do is you shove everything under the rug.”
But Tommy countered that their lack of communication comes from fights where he claimed Mercedeh “took no accountability for something.”
Mercedeh urged Tommy to “turn it down,” and shared, “The last thing I want right now is for us to take two steps back or ten steps back.”
But to producers, Merdeceh privately confessed, “I want to go back to where we were,” referencing the state of their relationship during her 2018 Shahs of Sunset Season 7 wedding to Tommy.
Mercedeh Javid reveals why she filed for divorce from Tommy Feight
Mercedeh opened up about the end of her marriage to The Daily Dish in January, and shared part of her decision to file for divorce concerned their 6-year-old son, Shams Francis Feight.
“Well, filing was a choice out of self-preservation and self-worth, that’s what that move was,” she said in the exclusive interview. “You can choose that and love someone at the same time, and prioritize your baby boy, which we’re both doing really well. I’m really impressed with how well we’re holding it down in this new chapter.”
During a Jan. 8 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Mercedeh revealed a “specific moment” on the 4th of July was her “last straw,” but she kept mum on the details.
“I didn’t leave the marriage because I stopped loving him,” she confessed to Andy. “I love him, and he’s the love of my life.”

For his part, Tommy didn’t shut the door on a reconciliation during the Dec. 15 episode of his podcast with Mercedeh, From Till Dirt with MJ and Tommy, noting, “Maybe one day we’ll come back to each other.” However, he shared his primary focus was their son.
“All I’m worried about now is that Shams is gonna be all right, that this isn’t gonna have a long-term effect on him… He has two parents that love him very, very much and would do anything for him. That’s never gonna change,” he said.
