Lala Kent is staying on top of her health.
On Wednesday, June 18, the Vanderpump Rules alum shared an Instagram photo of her recent trip to the ophthalmologist. The Story showed Lala sitting crossed-legged before a slit lamp as she presumably waited to meet with her doctor. The mother of two didn’t provide any details about the visit, as she simply captioned the post, “[eye emoji] appointment.”
Lala Kent gets diagnosed with a precancerous eye growth
The update came about a month after Lala revealed a concerning abnormality in one of her eyes. She told fans that her first doctor identified the growth as an inflamed pinguecula, a generally harmless condition that is typically treated with artificial tears. Lala said she was given eye drops, but became increasingly concerned when she noticed there was no improvement in her eye.
In an effort to get more answers, Lala scheduled an appointment with another eye doctor, who ultimately recommended a biopsy. Shortly after the procedure, Lala was informed that the eye bump was a precancerous growth.
Lala Kent shares an emotional update on her eye treatment: “I cried”
“I have an update on the eye,” she said in a May Instagram Story. “So I got a text from the doctor that I went and saw last night at 10:30 p.m. I’m so grateful, he said that the specialist can see you tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. So I was there at 9 a.m., she looked at it, she said that it is pre-cancer.”
Lala said the doctor prescribed her “chemotherapy drops,” which she would use one week a month over three months.
“Now I know that sounds terrifying. I cried, obviously, because the moment you hear that word…” she said in the emotional video. “At that point in time, god willing, it kills all of the cancerous cells. If it doesn’t, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it and talk about surgery. So there’s the update.”

The Valley friend also spoke candidly about the emotional toll of the diagnosis and how she initially struggled to stay optimistic.
“It’s just wild. I’ll have friends who come to me when they’re going through a health situation, and I’m like, ‘It’s going to be fine. You’ll be good. We’re gonna figure it out. We’ll cross bridges when we get to them,’” she explained. “Then, when you’re placed in this situation, all you can do is just sit here and stress and think about every possible horrendous situation, and all of the advice that you give to people completely goes out the window. So, I’m trying to stay positive.”
