A suburban Chicago village was the scene of a quadruple murder Sunday morning, when a husband and father allegedly shot his wife and three daughters to death.
Police arrived at the Tinley Park home just before 11:30 a.m. and found four people dead inside, all with gunshot wounds. The father of the family was taken into custody, and a gun was found on the scene, WLS reported.
“This was isolated to the home,” Tinley Park Village Manager Pat Carr said. “The scene is secure. There is only one suspect at this time.”
Carr said a man called police Sunday morning and reported a shooting inside the house, WMAQ said. He did not say if the suspect was the person who called 911.
The names and ages of the victims have not been released, but neighbor Charlotte Vaitkus told WLS her daughter knows the family well.
“She went to school with the oldest son, and she employed the twin sisters,” Vaitkus said. “She always talked about how they were all very intelligent, and they had very high goals goals in life.”
Charges against the gunman are pending. No further information was released.
